Hello everyone. Seems there is an issue with Telstra (possible others) blocking email from our server. If you are trying to sign up I would suggest a different email if possible. If you're trying to reset your password and it fails please use the Contact Us page:
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.
And a catchcan is used to separate out the oil from the crankcase fumes that are fed into the inlet tract (to burn the crankcase emissions). This greatly reduces the build up of gunk in the inlet tract cause by combination of this oil with the exhaust gas from the EGR (to reduce exhaust gas temp and Nitrous Oxide emissions).
It won't make more power but should make you DPF and EGR valve last longer and keep your engine running better by keeping the inlet tract from getting constricted.
Exactly, its a super efficient catch can with a renewable internal filter and over 90% efficient. Every diesel should have one, as whilst it doesn't increase power, it maintains it, as the stock diesels and petrols to a lesser extent clog up with oil blowby and their exhaust gas recycling forming sludge in the inlet. This causes everything from power loss, poor economy to jamming up moving parts and coating valves. Cheap insurance. Vital if you have a DPF in the MkV GT, or any Mk6 diesel.

Sorry Kaan baby, but I did say any mk6....only skoda may have had a dpf pre mk6, or have I missed something. I don't know about BMW or Merc etc, well not yet anyway!
Pom I reckon they are pretty easy to fit, but if you hold on a few weeks I will have up a website with a lot of info. It really comes down to mounting the can, and I'm working on brackets to suit. It's close...but if you are half handy and in a hurry feel free to buy a provent and hose from any of the better filter suppliers, such as Western Filter in Sydney. They are good guys.

Cheers Greg,
You've got my attention, it certainly makes sense having spent a fair amount of cash buying the car. I'll wait out for your website. Will you be selling the Provent kits along with installation instructions and would it fit in the space beside my APR intake.
Cheers....

pom829,
Greg is the man when it comes to diesel tech / know how.
Keep you fingers and toes crossed that his site is up and running soon!
As for where to place it, the new found space next to your APR intake would be my choice also!!!
Maybe good to add your interest to Gregs previous thread, wait for the website to be up and running or maybe just drop Greg a PM.

Yes mate you have the ideal setup in my opinion, and the bracket I have for the GTI will most likely work for you. I will have comprehensive instructions as well as HD video, been getting set up to put a lot of that up on you tube to help people DIY and get the tinker bug : )
Thanks for the kind words ope, I still have much to learn, but when no one this side of Europe does much Euro diesel, it's not hard to look half smart! I'd be outgunned over there!
