Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

  • Water and Diesel don't mix.

With the recent amount of floods in some states, I'd like to hope that the water will not find the way to the fuel storage and into our tanks. The prevention is always better than the cure, that's why I use fuel additive all year around (water is bad for any fuel system and especially for the diesel).

You can get Fuel Doctor or Moreys fuel additive from Super Cheap Auto.

if you are really concerned then get your self a 'Mr Funnel'. ( Pro Quip Mr Funnel Fuel Filter Funnels )
It is a funnel with built in Filtration system that separates water and debris from fuel... piece of mind and you get to see what it is separating as you pour the fuel - if it is really bad you can warn the station of contamination.
