hey guys,
so i was at volkspower today, with my whiteline wishbone bushes (front) and rear axle beam lock bushes, and i spotted the super pro (fulcrum suspensions) lower engine mount hanging on the wall, and i thought "what the hell, i'll throw that on the pile too".
hahahahahahahahaha
brett came across after he'd put everything in, and says to me "i bet you we'll see you again in a week."
i get in the car, and the vibration from the polyurethane engine mount bush is frigging INSANE!!!! as in, the steering wheel is shaking so much that it's blurry, and you cant have a just-opened can of soft drink in the drink holder, because it'll splash your delicious monster energy drink all over the place.
gotta say, though, when you're moving, it feels really good- gear shifts just feel a little smoother - i dont know how to put it, but it's like you dont notice gear changes now- the stick simply changes gear smoothly and with minimal fuss, unlike before, where you'd be conscious / aware whenever you selected a new gear.
first gear actually feels nice now, too. for the polo tdi, whose first gear ends at 40km/h, first gear has always been an ugly affair, with wheels juddering for grip, the axle tramping etc. now, it just the power to the ground nice and smooth.
and, for example, powering out of corners in second, and really flooring it, used to be a fun affair beforehand- a little tyre spin, etc, but now, the power feels..... more utilized. for the first time since i've had the car, it actually felt like i had some torque steer (it could be possible in a 315+nm 1.2 ton polo, right?).
the in-cabin vibration is merely a laughing point for me- i'll get used to it, and as far as im concerned, it's a worthy addition to my very modest list of enhancements-over-stock.
cheers,
scotty
