  • VW Provent kits in progress.

Just to let you all know at this stage VW specific Provent kits are looking like going ahead. I've got a few people working behind the scenes, but the first step will be to fit some up to Brisbane based cars so we can get measurements for brackets and the required bends on hoses etc. Once we have a development car done we can pump out the kits on demand.

To be realistic this will take a few months to cover the VW TDI range entirely, but at this stage if anyone is interested in letting me have a poke around your car ( with my mechanic / Pirtek franchise brother ) we can do you an amazing deal price wise, and of course free fitment.

Please express your interest, and I'll let you know how things develop as we go. In the least I will do special prices on plain Provents for any VWW members who have contributed to the community. There's also different inserts available to pull even more oil out of the inlet, something I didn't realise! HUGE product range, and many different filtering products available.

    Stay tuned.

I have a TDI Multivan and I am interested in the provent. I have one fitted to my Landrover and it is a good bit of gear. These were provided free for a research project by a WA scientist to measure the filtration properties.

It's easy to fit it in T5 mate, just in case you didn't see my reply to your earlier post.

What about Skoda's running the VW 2.0 TDI engines, I have the 125kw CR version fitted to my Octavia RS wagon - would be interested?

            Hey Tony,

Yep you're first in, but sorry to say mate, I have a Golf as well, and already have a Provent installed, so I can see what sort of bends, pipe and brackets are required for a nice neat fitment. All I really need a "vehicle prototype" for is to see the sorts of places a Provent could be easly mounted, and the pipes required so that part could be specifically made up on mass as required.

I do so appreciate your enthusiasm though, and I'm sure I can fix you up with just hoses and a bracket / drain can depending on how it ends up. I'm only interested in producing a professional kit, so it will take a little time.

great stuff cog, your certainly on top of things! i'd be interested in starting you off with a plain provent purchase i dont think there'd ber much call for provent kit installs on mk3 diesels somehow

I wasn't sure if my setup was different to yours?...I checked out the earliest photos from your tinkering begins thread and the air intake line is in a different place than my 103kW. The provent would hook in at approximately the same place at one end but right over half way across the top of the engine for feeding back into the air intake. Your main air intake dissapears underneath and mine goes across the top...is that your tinkering changes or a VW difference between the 125kW and 103kW?
I'm keen to see what you come up with though!!
                Cheers,
                Tony

OK you've sold me Tone, seems they aren't all the same. Hang ten for now, just at the point of solving the high flow yet not obtrusive hose issue, but you are definately THE 103kw guy!

All modern diesels will benefit from a Provent, and your Skoda would probably be identical to the VW 125kw TDI, but heck, like Tony has taught me, you just never know.

Yeah I did see it and thanks for the detailed info. Getting it as a kit really reduces my need to manufacture stuff (no welder). Happy to support the project and offer the vehicle for a prototype.

All VAG cars will be covered first guys, but it's all about making the right kit, the right way, and at the right price. It won't happen overnight, but it's certainly progressing nicely. Because I have a Golf, well the Golf / Jetta kit is going to be number one......because my dodgey install just won't do anymore!!

This is great news. I'd be interested in one of these kits once everything is sorted out. I have a 2008 103kw golf oiler.
