  • Finally had my GT SPORT chipped.

Well guys, after long research and many phone calls to several dealers I have finally had my GT SPORT chipped. The company I went with is TUNIT Diesel Performance at the Gold Coast. MAN, what a differance. It is such a big differance its hard to believe its the same car. Before having it done if you wanted good pick-up from the lights you would of had to been driving around for a little while in sports mode using your paddles. BUT NOW, you have that same power driving around in economy mode. USE your sports mode and paddles now off the line and MAN does it GO HARD. Given many c/dores and falcons 6s and 8s a very big shock. Power is up from 125 to 149 and torque is up 350 to 405 I have a DSG auto box. My decision to go with TUNIT was made easier due to I can remove it in less than 5 minites. It is also adjustable 1-10 power setting (mine at the moment is set on 6) Local back-up---can remove in minutes---$1200.00 What more can I say. I AM OVER THE MOON WITH THE RESULTS. LARRY.

Hmm.... Going to pay that place a little visit

Good to see you're happy with what you've got. Interesting to see if your fuel economy improves!

Interesting, Larry. Does it help with the hole below 2k rpm?

And this is a physical device that plugs into somewhere, right? Can the dealer detect that it's being used once you remove it?

(I'm just ever so slightly sceptical as there's been heaps of dodgy tuner boxes available on eBay that work in a similar fashion....)

        gt sport chip

No, the device can not be detected once unplugged from the vehicle and the normal harness re-connected. The flat spot under 2000rpm is 70% gone under normal driving ( in drive ) and 95% gone using sports mode. Hope that helps. If I knew it was going to be this good I would have it done 18 months ago. One big thing I've noticed driving a chipped gt sport is that it is a lot smoother down low. Instead of the power jerking into action everything is a lot more fluent.

And the pushback from 1st, 2nd and 3rd is noticeably more aggressive than stock

Glad to hear you're happy mate.

Your are spot on Cam, the differance from stock to chipped is fantastic. A
And also as you say the auto using the paddles was very snappy into the gears where now is is very very smooth. Larry

The chip/map Dad got in the GT sport was the ST3 from Chipped UK.
Tell you what though as soon as I got into it and took it for a spin along the highway you could instantly feel the gain. Even economy has actually improved as well. The last small trip we went on (170km round) it averaged 5.8L/per 100km from memory (may even have be lower..). Which is outstanding considering it wasn't being driven lightly.

Needless to say, I don't mind having to borrow it every now and again.

get your dad to pay another 100 pounds for a race map. i went with fast road, and race, with chippeduk.

ran fast road for a month- loaded race the other day.

even between those two maps, there's a pretty noticeable difference.

The unit name and company is TUNIT. I have not had a dyno done before and after as they dont 100% show the true facts. I much prefer the feeling of how your car runs and the smoothness before and after. And I can remove the system in under 5 minutes ( which I have done, and man what a differance ) once the unit was replaced. Larry

So I guess you're happy as Larry with the mod... And the idea of being able to change it whenever you want is great..
