    At what rpm does it come in, because it's certainly not at the "redline" of 4,500.

      Hi,
      I am not sure without looking at the code in your ECU what the max rpm limit is. I did read somewhere the Audi TT TDI has 5000 rpm limit.
      Diesels will never run as high rpm as petrol because it takes longer to combust the fuel. Also, I know of people that have experimented with camshafts with longer durations on 2.0 tdi BKD engines that show no improvement over standard.

        Also some VW TDIs apparently have a speed limit built into the ECU.

        According to some of the enthusiastic POMS on the Brickyard forum, this ECU limit cuts in at about 118-120Mph on the 128Kw Transporter TDIs (they all assure me that they either go to Germany for the unrestricted autobahns or use their 'private roads' to check these sorts of limits out )
