oil pressure STOP ENGINE!

    well service has been done and starts perfect again. looks like the 15k kms is just too far for the diesel... my aunt has a 05 fsi which i just found out the service light started to come on 6 months ago no dramas with it though!

    $111 for oil is a bit crazy! is there somewhere that it can be got for less?
    Peugeot 205 mi16 2:00.8 at Philip Island + Peugeot 405 mi16 - other half, Golf mk5 2.0 TDI runs on something keep forgetting what though...

      Penrite Diesel HPR15 Enviro plus 5W30 has VW507.00 approval. You should be able to get it for less than $70.00

        Mines been doing this for a while now. Thought it was air in the system, lack of fuel, faulty pump you name it. But always first thing in the morning.

        It's been in and out of the dealer a few times and it's been isolated to a weak starter motor.

        Apparently, the ecu doesn't signal for fuel to be injected until the motor is spinning at 250 rpm. So add in a lazy battery, cold morning etc. and it won't start.

        However as it is spinning at 200 ish rpm the ecu thinks it is running but without enough oil pressure. So it shrieks stop!

        If yours is still under warranty get it done, as it's a 1000 buck part. eeek! VW do have a thing called "good will" and may cover part of the cost if the car is just out of warranty and been serviced by a dealer.

        I'm waiting on the good will bit at the moment...

          ok that is interesting... it doesn't explain why changing the oil and fuel filter fixed the problem though

              Got car back today. VWA covered 50% of the cost. car starts and runs well (so far). Really pleased.

              Starter motor lists at 674. 90 labor.
