Common rail is still a little new, but the god news for you is that Gale Banks, the guru in my recent diesel tuning book reckons mechanical injection can be boosted about 30%, whereas common rail is more like 60%!!

TDI is VW's marketing name for there electronically controlled diesels..... regardless of the injection system used. it was incepted to distinguish them from the IDI (indirect injection) prechamber type diesels with fully mechanical injection systems.Originally posted by Vicbitter View PostIts not a crd, even though the badges say it is, its a tdi.

I remember debating this before!
I just spent some time on the Jeep Australia site, and whilst the Patriot and Compass models just list a CRD diesel option with no real technical specs, if you go to Wrangler or Cherokee, both expand on the CRD diesel, and actually list common rail (CRD), and I can't see why your model wouldn't in fact be common rail as well.

Not including the tow bar, nudge bar, roof racks, all the baby stuff (car seat, pram) and ME!!
I need more POWER!!
