  • Footwell LEDs & Warning Light

    hi guys,

am pretty sure getting interior and exterior lights changed to LED is a mod that many of you would have done.

i installed the side parking lights no probs at all but did the fog lights the warning light has come on even though its working and the bulbs are error free. any ideas or do i need to buy a new set? will it harm the car if i just left the error light on?

second question... accessing footwell bulbs... how the heck do you do it?! there are some "how tos" on Scirocco Central (UK forum) but still kinda hard to get my head around the instructions and i dont wanna break anything.

    any advise?

The warning light is on because the LEDs draw less current than the standard filament bulbs, and the control module reads this as the bulb has blown. You can buy adapters and resistors to draw extra current to fool the control module (and some LEDs you purchase have resistors built-in and are designed to prevent bulb-out errors being thrown). You can't disable the bulb-out check to suppress the warning light for the fogs as far as I know.
