Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hey Deadpool how did you know which twintake you need because there seem to be two for golf5 gti. I am also looking to get one. Also do you know who would be cheaper on shipping, ECS or Parts4Euro?

Parts4Euro is cheaper on shipping. You need the 2.0TFSI model. There's a Pirelli Model (K04) and a regular GTI model model (K03). Unless you've upgraded to the K04 you need the K03 model.

Thanks man, did you have any issues with your twintake I read on the forums that a few people have had issues with Forge Twintakes?

Wouldn't have been with the TWINtake, it would've been with the WINtake. The WINtake had really bad fuel trim issues. The TWINtake has the highest rated airflow and can keep up the high demand in the upper RPMs. The only issues with it is getting the thing to line up perfectly due to all the pieces.

The stuff I read was actually for the TWINtake, I wanted to get a TWINtake but then I saw all of those so I thought maybe I will get the WINtake, but now I'm totally confused haha.. I don't know what to do. I would get the VWR but its too expensive. Did you install the TWINtake yourself?

Please point me towards those posts, because I've seen quite a few people running TWINtakes on Mk5's and Mk6 R's and they've never had an issue. I installed it myself, it's not a hard just. Just a little tedious. Hardest part was getting the spring clamp off of the turbo intake pipe.

Get the TWINtake, but beware of Murphy's Law. The only people I've seen have issues are the Mk6 guys as their MAF is in a different location to ours.
