Getting to 40K on mine, getting to 14 months now.

Happy with the car, getting to stage where I am now looking for lowered springs and Stage 1 kit.

Still having issues with both windows not going down at the same time if both switches are pressed. I would say only window (passenger) goes down around 30% of the time. I have had the switch replaced already, they have had a second look at the switch and now some of the clips are broken and waiting for a new switch to be shipped from Singapore.

Another thing I noticed is that my driver side arm rest on the door has an indent where my elbow normally rests. I am shocked at this as I only way 75KG and arm can't be that heavy?! I am always holding the steering wheel anyways as I use the DSG pedals. Not sure if they would replace the arm rest or call it normal wear and tear. At the same time the center console top doesn't show indents from where my other arm rests.

Besides those two things, no complaints Just looking at adding two flat subs under the seats as well. Not for loudness, just nicer deeper bass sound.

Does the window always go down on its own, or sometimes not work then either? I've seen issues with some very late model cars with severed door wiring harnesses through the hinge area, where they can get pinched and break. It has caused many a mis-diagnosed faulty switch/regulator.
I'd say if the switch has already been replaced with no fix, its time to look elsewhere for the cause...

With your armrest, if they did replace it, it would just be with an identical part. It will dent again. Dont be shocked. All they can offer you is a comforting hug for that.

The windows don't operate on their own, just every-now and then the driver side does not respond.

But the Door harness thing could make sense! When I first had the car I noticed that the drivers side door did not close properly and had a few extra mm in gaps compared to the other side. I had service readjust the door to make it fit better.

However, it is now back the same misaligned spot compared to the passenger side. So I wonder if something happened to the cables while they were moving the door?

Had mine 6mths - I love it. Only gripes were the power delivery when stock, and the exhaust note. Both of which I fixed in the first couple of months.
In the wet I sometimes think AWD would be nice but I couldn't trade the look of a Scirocco for a Golf...

No actual faults to speak of...touch wood!

This makes me laugh, glad to see your all enjoying your vehicles

I'm coming up on 30 years of Mk1 Scirocco ownership and I must say I still get a buzz out of driving at least one of the five I own.
In the works is a 16V Mk2 Scirocco which hopefully will be here mid year to join my clan.
To me the Mk3 was a bit of a letdown as it seemed to run out of funding in the latter stages of metamorphosis from a show car 1 off to a production model, but i can totally relate to how the enthusiastic newer car owners feel, lets see how many of you can hold out for 30 years..!!
                  Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

                  Cheers,
                  Grant...

                    13months, 18,000kms

love driving my car at every opportunity, always turning heads (guys AND GIRLS so im not sure what you blokes are doing wrong).

1.biggest issue iv had with the car is OIL!! where does it all go!!? a trip to a VW service shop and they will top it up for free.
                    2. squeaky brakes and brake dust on the rims, i will be going aftermarket when this is due for changing.. for the squeak, find a carpark and reverse while braking, this temporarily fixes the squeak. or a heavy brake from speed also temp fixes.

apart from that, love this car

What sort of power delivery problem did you experience? Turbo lag? What did you do to fix, a tune? Anyone here have a manual that has a down pipe and tune? I found turbo lag a problem on the Golf R that I test drove, but I love the look of the Rocco. I would get one but I like the instant low down torque of my tuned K03 which would be hard to trade.
