  • Happy Rocco Owners? Or not so much?

    Hi all,

I have had my Roc for just over 3 months now, and very happy with it.

I still smile every time I drive her,

I guess what I really want to know, has anyone actually had any issues with the car in their term of ownership. I really cant find any un-happy owners - which is a great thing.

You only hear of the bad in forums and it's always a breath of fresh air to hear positive feedback.

The only problem I had was the sticky wind whipers, New bosch replacement fixed that right up.

I'm more concerned with serious warrenty claims.

    Cheers.

Overall I'm extremely happy with the car. I never get tired of driving it, and have clocked up 30,000km in less than a year.

I've had some relatively minor issues with my car:

    1) Brake squeal slowing from 50kph -> 10kph or so. It's quite embarrassing at times, as people hear something pulling up, and it turns out to be a brand new sports car. Still happens.

    2) Creaking sound from rear of car when turning slowly into streets, going over speed bumps, etc. Sounds like a lose panel, like it's rubbing up against another panel. However, I have music going most of the time so can't hear it until I'm getting to work/home, etc. Happens everyday.

    3) Wiper issue everyone else had. Seemed to have settled in and fixed itself. Made a squeaking sound that was moderately loud.

    4) Probably my biggest issue so far which I will get looked in March - when I put my driver seat forward to access the rear seat, it will not go back to it's normal driving position. I have to hold the latch quite hard, and almost force the seat back and forward a few times to finally move it back. I've been stuck out front a friends place for 10mins trying to get the seat back so I could leave. Good excuse to get everyone to get in the other side.

    5) The car picks up too many random men in public.

    6) Number 5.

Is the problem that you would prefer to be picked up in private?

Overall though. I love my car, and have for almost a year now

I had the windscreen wiper issue to, but that's it *fingers crossed*

Love it. 9 months of ownership and not one vist to a dealership. By this time my previous BMW was on first name terms the people at Stillwell BMW. No issues except for the noisy wipers which were easily fixed.

Looks better with the VWR springs added!!!

Only less than 2 months ownership. Had seen 4) once but on passenger side.

Visited dealership once to replace the dsg shift plate because of a small chip that opens up a small hole can see the white plastic. They fit a new one with the wrong trim (black stitches instead of the R's gray stitches) so going to visit them again the week after next. I though I could live with the black dumb stitches but figured I just couldn't! So called them up today to replace it again! They found out it is actually a system issue when they entered the VIN, this is the default and only option black+black popped up for the Scirocco.

Nope. I'm pretty sure this is a warrantable issue.

Have had mine for 3 months now.

Few minor (but bearable) complaints I have are:
                    1. Rear suspension very harsh, became crashy after installing springs
                    2. Wiper noise, but not fussed at all.
                    3. OEM Reverse bulbs gay and dim, solved using CREE bulbs (cheap option) which can light up the entire driveway
                    4. Is there even a difference between the ACC modes????

Other than that, I smile and admire the sexy fella every day, and sitting in it makes me feel good! No regrets for buying this over the golf R for me.

I've had mine just over 12 months now, I still smile when I drive it to work every morning.

VMR springs only increased my love of this car

I've had 2 strange issues with mine though.

First was a lose panel within the front left wheel arch, caused a massive vibration when the road was a little bumpy. promptly fixed with my 15k service.

Second issue is still ongoing I've got clear coat issues on my bonnet and rear hatch door.........the bonnet looks like it has acne :/

Still waiting on VW for the warranty to be approved so I can get them resprayed.................

Comfort: As soft as those dampers will go, steering is lighter [I use this when on long drive highways]
Normal: Adapts to your speed (your steering wheel will tighten up when going at speed, and I've noticed this on freeways), and dampers will vary accordingly. I can notice this to some degree, and leave it in normal most of the time.
Sport: As hard as dampers will go, steering is heavy [I use this when I hate someone]

Subtle, with the sport mode being quite harsh for Aussie roads.
