  • Second hand or wait for new

So my CW DSG with Dynaudio is due mid Sept - got it down to 51500 which i was happy with

Just speaking to guy selling one due to a family bereavement and his is CW DSG with Nav (no Dynaudio) and has 600k's

    He wants 49000

Would I be stupid to hold out for the brand new one?

Any downside to buying one thats 2 months old - assume the warranty transfers to me anyway?

Up to you, but the price difference doesn't seem that big of an enticement over the feeling of having a brand new car with the options you wanted. I presume at $49-51 there are more options than just DSG and Nav anyway.

Warranty does transfer but look out for clauses that may impose limitations on what will be repaired for 2nd hand owners. I'm a 2nd hand owner and having clutch pack work done under warranty so that's pretty good.

      True

I wanted the nav but wasn't gonna pay 2500 for it. My order is dsg/dynaudio at 51500 - his is dsg/nav at 49000 and I get it now rather than 6 weeks which is actually a big benefit

Good advice chaps - hadn't thought off the insurance point

2500 isn't a lot no - but could come in handy at mo as moving house and got a lot of expenses.

Nav would be useful but think I may miss the upgraded sounds...

Nav can be DIY retrofitted easily for ~$1100 courtesy of eBay. Plenty of guides around, one of the most popular retrofits performed I think.

For the sake of $2K - $2.5K I'd go the new car.

If the difference was Closer to $5K then I'd consider the 2nd hand one.

Whats the condition of the car like? 600km isn't that high but I'd look at that too...

Thanks chaps - decided to wait

But if anyone wants a good price on a 600km/2m old Candy White with DSG and Nav - contact that guy in the carsales listing. Won't go into details but he's selling due to a bereavement. He said he would drop it to $49 for me which is a pretty sweet price if you want that colour/spec without the lead time
