  • I'm happy the indium is not everyone's first choice. I was going to buy the blue (which I still like) then the demo I drove was an indium. That did the trick for me. I had, a few years ago now, an A3 turbo is a similar colour. Liked that too - maybe I'm a grey guy like you.

I love the Roc when compared to the 135. Would I like the interior to be a bit more special? Yes. But apart from that as a real world daily driver the Roc wins hands down for me.

I like your use of dark metal grey too.

Anyway welcome to the club (and to that even more exclusive club of Indium Grey Roc R ownership)!

agree on the interior. about the only thing I'd want is electric seat adjustment (and electric steering column adjustment would be nice too). apart from that I understand it's meant to be 'sporty' so doesn't have leather etc.

yeah I quite like the blue too but I felt the grey gives it a more modern look. white seems to be popular (is that because it's cheaper? lol), I'm not a fan of the green and surprisingly I don't really like it in silver either. but I could happily have blue, white or black.

      • i miss the lumber support that i had on the gti leather seats.
other then that, not too fussed about electric seats as i am the only one who drives it, so seat doesnt move once set up for me

          • nice one dude. another indium one popping up. judging by the plates it's rego'd around the same time as mine.

I just did the VIM hack and added the personalPOI file to mine and if you have a RNS510 navi in your I strongly reccomend doing both. now passengers can watch DVD's whilst the car is in motion and having speed cameras etc in the POI's is very handy too.

it's easy as. if you aren't confident burning the ISO etc I can probably post you my disc. you just need to insert it, wait till it comes up with the 'can't downgrade software message' and spits out the disc then you press eject/star/guide at the same time. it will then re-swallow the disc and then give you the confirmation screen (click ok) then it will finish the job and spit out the disc at the end and tell you install was successful. it's a pain for passengers not being able to watch DVDs while the car is moving. the factory VIM disable "feature" pretty much renders the DVD player function useless.

                    • yep, like adam said there is info on it in the audio subforum or you can google "RNS510 VIM hack" or something like that. it's how I did it. having said that I'm happy to help out anyone local who is not confident doing it (some people have issues with different burning programs not working or different brand CD's not working etc). I'm pretty noob when it comes to VAG stuff but things like this I can manage ok.

someone pm'd me asking if I'd send them the disc I used (as we know it'll work in late model RNS510's in our 2012 rocco's) so I'll post it to them (they're in perth too). maybe they can send it to you dizzydumb when they've used it?

I'm posting the disc and sd card with all the POI's from the other thread to user: kazsiddique who is in perth too. maybe once kaz get's it, it can be forwarded on to you, or you guys can meet up and do it together (depending on how close you guys are in perth).

I'll try and get it in the mail tomorrow. maybe kaz can send you a pm or vice versa.
