Nah.... we always new it would be about Golf R pricing. The 3 door Golf R was $48,490 (6MT) and $50,990 (DSG). So this is $1000 less for a smaller car with no AWD.Comment

But with 19's and ACC standard.. at least that is the way it was shown in Melbourne. I will confirm later today after I have placed my order...

I can confirm that the pricing includes... ACC, 19" Talladega wheels, Low tyre pressure indicator, tyre mobility set (12 volt compressor and tyre sealant), Automatic Kerb function...
Options are.. DSG, Panoramic Sunroof (tilt adjustable only), Dynaudio and RNS510 Sat Nav.
Dealer fitted Accessory shown in the Brochure is Sagitta (19 x 8 ) Alloy Wheels.
Print date on the Brochure is August 2011 and the publication number is VGA1940 ( I have a hard copy )

No one knows how many cars are in the first batch other than VWA. It could actually be that there are only 20 cars in the "first" batch which will be for Demo's, that would be a reasonable number for the whole country...
Just so there is no doubt about the "first" batch... this is an excerpt from the e-mail I received from VWA (after I had placed my order)
The Scirocco R will be in dealerships, available for test drive in December 2011, prior to its January 2012 launch, but if you are ready to place your order you can do so today.
