Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Back to the Future...

Spotted by some of the evo boys at a servo on the way to le mans

"VW Scirocco done out as a near perfect replica of the DeLorean from Back To The Future, complete with washing machine parts stuck to it etc. Highlights included stickers on the rear "this car is limited to 87 mph" and "no flux capacitors left in vehicle overnight". It has mock time circuits inside and everything is labelled up with Dyno Tape including the Cup Holder "Booze Control"

Giugiaro's designs might not have been selected for the MkII Scirocco but from those pictures you can certainly see where Schafer's influences came from!

                  Guys

Checkout the Audi TT conversion in the June issue of Volkswagon Golf. Perhaps old Scirocco's have the kit car potential of Beetles, MGB's, Sierra's etc etc?

I particularly liked the comment regarding handling that acknowledged a departure from preference to indicate whilst turning on roundabouts to keeping both hands firmly on the steering wheel!
