Pleased with the way these turned out. Paint correction booked in for Friday as well.
Might need to drop it down a bit now. The Mrs will be so pleased that the spending isn't over yet

Spare tyre or lack of it
That is a great idea .... cheap insurance,Originally posted by Scratchyratface View PostI've kept one of my original tyres and shove it in the boot for any longer drives that I might do
Unfortunately I don't have any "old ones" yet
My worry is being out in the sticks and holing a tyre that the "goo" and compressor can't fix
OK Roadside assist will take care of the car - like I really want to see it towed away ??
The tow will get the car to the nearest tyre retailer
Murphy the bitch will make sure that this happens on a weekend - make that a long weekend
So the car is stored somewhere for a couple of days with no control over where that is
Have to get family to come pick us up
Then next working day arrange a new tyre and get fitted and return and get car
Hmmmm .... think I just talked myself into one of these
just under $200 delivered from Sydney ... will be here next week by courier
Good insurance I think
No idea what they are off - Golf R....Golf GTI ??Last edited by Blue103TDIDSG; 11-04-2016, 12:00 AM.

I've kept one of my original tyres and shove it in the boot for any longer drives that I might do (I drove to Bundaberg last year for work) - as you leave Brisbane it becomes more difficult to pickup a tyre for the Roc at any of the usual tyre places. Not sure what brand come with the latest Roc but I swapped from Continental to Goodyear and buy them online from Melbourne, 2 tyres shipped worked out cheaper than buying 1 in QLD!

Sorry to hear ..Originally posted by Scratchyratface View PostSomeone has nicely scraped down the side of mine yesterday as they have either parked or reversed, a small scrape on the rear quarter then the alloy and bumper. Only small but its taken a bit of the paint off the bumper and also left a mark that I don't seem to be able to polish out
...... Infuriating to say the least !!..
In a way I guess you're lucky you didn't catch them in the act.
See the results on TV News - never know how things will end up.
The Scirocco is a magic car but I don't want to die or go to jail for it....
Mine leads a very "sheltered" life ...... very selective, even where we take it ........ will never leave it in a carpark
If for some reason when we are out in it and wife has to go to a shopping centre, I drop her off an go park somewhere "safe". I stay with the car and she calls when ready to be picked up.
If we have to park in a carpark we use one of the other cars, still always park at the far end away from everyone
But not the Rocc..
At this stage I think the washes are still about equal to the number of drives...
Got a few bits off Ebay - inexpensive but add a nice touch (IMHO)
Both just snap into place .... funny thing is they come in a 4 pack - just what you need with a 2 door car
I contacted the sellers (in China) and asked for a price for 6 - answer .... "No" "4 or 8"
So I got 4 put the other 2 on the front doors of the Yeti
Got a flat tyre last week .
..... with those 35 profile tyres it doesn't look much different when flat
Was a nice gal iron roofing screw in the tread, so I just left it in .... OK the compressor worked
Just pumped it back up and drove home slowly - didn't use the goo. Stopped 1/2 way and checked pressure
But it raised the thought ...... man I feel sort of "naked" without a spare tyre
The other 2 cars have "get you home" spares - that was a big enough hurdle
But just a compressor and bottle of goo ????
Hey guys (and gals)..... what are your thoughts on no spare wheel or am I showing my age ??
Might start a new thread

Nice work, such an improvement for a small investment!

Thanks guys. For the tints I'm not so sure, the guy I use all the time just tried his hardest to get a good match. He did mention though that the Rocco has a green tint on the factory rears, so try to match that.

Hi DVSTwigOriginally posted by DVSTwig View PostBeen a bit quiet in here, and a while since mine has actually been clean!

Car looks great - love the Rising Blue
The last photo shows a good match on the front window tint to the factory (presuming) rears
would you mind advising what tint(s) you used ??
I take delivery of my new Rocc end of this week and being in Queensland will have to get the fronts windows tinted
Thanks in advance

Looks great DVSTwig, such a great colour and awesome wheel choice. Just need my finance manager at home to approval some new wheels, I'm sure she would rather I replace the wheels than buy a new car

I got a pack of 100 white plugs at Bunnings (pinched the idea from someone on this forum) for something like $3 and they are a great match. Result!
