Best VW in my book. I was tech for 15 years with Audi/Vw and remember doin the intro course when they were launched. I remember the engine course for the AAA and the ABV engine. That was a spin out with the 15 degrees config. But hey its radical now man!! VR and WR everything now hey. I am thinking of a way to import one for myself one day. I could source one but just getting it over is the burden im open for any ideas

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Yeah, definitely! If you're willing to go through the trouble of importing a car from overseas, better to go for something that's not available here!

You have to own it for a year in the UK mate. If you have relations who can look after it, that is the only way.
Plenty of old posts on here about importing a corrado, use the search feature.sigpic Camden GTI Performance. VW / AUDI Specialists

Sounds like a plan mate, I reckon that`d work. Just get him to drive and insure it for a year and then ause the papers to apply for an import permit here.
I know two pommie guys who brought Corrados over. I think there are 5 Corrados in Oz. Thats it.
I left a scirocco storm in blighty when I moved here and always regretted it.
If I ever go back for a year, I`ll buy a corrado and the Mrs can buy a Passat TDI, or Audi Wagon and we`ll both have a personal import.sigpic Camden GTI Performance. VW / AUDI Specialists

Its a shame they're so hard to get over here, but then good for me because its so rare to have one!!!
They check every page of your passport to make sure you've been living in the UK for 12 months along with a recipt or insurance certificate to prove you've owned and used it for 12 months also, before import approval is granted. You also have to be an Australian resident or citizen.
Those are the hardest rules to meet, then there's all the rest of the paper work for registration and import costs .......The Specialist and Enthusiast Vehicles way of importing is a no-go area too.
As Golf Loon said there is plenty of info about it on here....
Good lucksigpic
