Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Well, we have one now - not a bad machine at all

Never even sat in one before and now we have one in the fleet.

Personally for the money, it's an excellent value vehicle. The big kicker is the 5 star safety rating, The Maps & More I think are great value in this modern age (for a car at this price-point).

Would love to get some wheels & tyres under it, they look like bicycle wheels

Love the promo pics with the big wheels, lowered!

    Throw some piccies up!

    Got some plans for it?

I would like to do this:

But for now its just a work car - mind you, to stick some GTI running gear under a 770kg car would give us awesome power to weight ratio

They are a 4 x 100 of some form, have not spent much time looking into it at the moment (too much on) - mind you, the factory upgrade wheels are nice as well.

Keen to see where you go with this

Had mine for about 4 months now, still running great. Real enjoyment having a light car.

Keen to see how you go with wheels. We are looking around for wheels for ours. We like the Upsilon OEM wheels, but the price VW quoted was insane. We prefer the OEM look, vut would consider replicas or something that looks like OEM.

Just got back from a month in Europe, saw lots of Ups (as well as the Seat Mio and Skoda Citigo). Saw some nicely optioned Ups with cool interiors and cool OEM wheels. Shame we only got the abbreviated spec sheet and options list here in Oz...

I hope APR (Guy) will have a update for the VW UP GT (1L turbo) when it is released here.

                        "When"

I was more thinking "if", but I definitely hope they do! It'll be like a modern day mk1 GTI

Looking forward to seeing the Turbo Up!

The UP is doing exactly as promised, returning 4.5 litres per 100kms doing over 100kms per day
