Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Golf MK7 Suspension change.

    Hi all,

I am pretty new in this forum and in Car. I would like to ask everyone to share the suspension change experience. I am planning to get Suspension Spring change to be either VWR or H&R. I understand Coilover would be a much better option. However, the cost would be too much for me. In addition, Only the KW suspension support the Volkswagen DCC. However, it would be around 4000 AUD with installation.

    1. VWR & H&R, Which one is better. (In terms of comfort, more compatible to the stock shock)
    2. Bolts and nuts need to replace? I have heard that the suspension and nuts are the high tension stretch bolts. Therefore it is only one off use. If the bolts and nuts need to replace, where would you guys order it?
    3. Will you install it from the Offical Volkswagen Dealer Service, or get the Volkwagen tuner to do it, like Volksmuller and Exoticars in sydney?

If you can share your experience, that will be appreciated.

    Thanks,
Working...
