when checking the speedo against the GPS, it was approx 4-5km/h too fast around 100 km/h.
You're probably right. I don't pay that much attention to Passats.

You could probably go to 245/45r17 and the speedo would be perfect but as you have a full size spare it's probably not worth it.

To get a 6% correction as I need for the speedo to be bang on I would need to go to 275 x 45 x17

As per here Hopefully i worked it out right I put the 235's in the bottom box and 106 for speedo reading and adjusted the top one till I got it to say Speedo reads 106 actual 100 Which is what my car reads atm

403 Forbidden LINK DOES WORK dont know about the error

I wish it was 10k out is easier than trying to work out 6 or 7 so I bought a HUD and have it set the same as the Canbus reading plus 1

I think you'd find 225/50r17 would be very helpful - it will claw back a couple of km. You won't fit much bigger than that without having clearance issues when turning.

        I don't think anyone sells a 275/45r17

That size would probably have clearance issues when cornering. I've run 225/50r17 on the Octy and they are a tight fit up front. I couldn't go into a downhill sweeper or hit a mid-corner bump without the tyres scraping on the bodywork.

Keep in mind that the thickness of the speedo needle is worth a couple of km, so you really only need to bring it within 2-3km. That's what worked for me.

I run on the digital readout in the MFD and never look at the needle Is more accurate otherwise I hold the button in and read off the Canbus
