Matching centre bore diameter? Mk5 GTI

G'Day All,

I've found a set of wheels I really like...

But the centre bore diameter is 66.6mm. With the Mk5 bore being 57.1mm will I need an adapter (if such thing exists)?
Or will they centre by way of the wheel nuts...Am I playing with fire?

for the 57.1 to 66.6 part you just need hubrings. can get from your local tyre/wheel shop sometimes or just on ebay (normally $20 for 4 abs plastic ones) just be sure they sit flush or recessed in the back of the wheel. I've had to trim a lot of hub rings for merc wheels becuase they have a tiny chamfer compared to most other wheels

they can be centred by just using wheel bolts but you will most likely have vibration.

if using merc wheels be sure to use the right length bolts (they usually require longer bolts) and the right bolt seat

yep thats them.
just keep a eye on the chamfer. as I said, I had to shave some of mine down.

I find getting plastic/abs ones ideal so you can shave the back down to reduce the chamfer easier

i had a set of these, test fitted on a mk5 and there's abit of poke, unless you run a tonne of camber and stretch you might get away with it, but the offset might be abit low,

Thanks for the heads up Juzzpc. Were they 35 or 45 offset?
I was planning on getting the 45 offset to avoid the "poke".

Hub rings required. 66.6 - 57.1 are common. I use them with my Audi A4 wheels

What size & ET are the wheels as Mercedes rims often have too much poke

I was planning on getting the 45 offset to avoid the "poke".

ah yes I had the set of et35 , still poked out a horrendous amount, but 45 should be alot better, + some stretch and maybe some camber and it'll be [emoji108] .. I only paid like $350 for my set brand new.

Thanks for all the help fellas...great advice as usual. Will be putting in a set of Coil overs at the same time so camber will be available to get the wheels under the guards.
