Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • What stud size do I get for my adapters??

    Need some help please

I am needing to order some adapters from Adaptec and am not sure of what stud size to select.

Thickness of the adapter I need is 28mm...if that helps.

    Cheers

What pcd you going to? For jap you could 14x1.5 or 12x1.25.
Generally your 5x112 wheels are going to be 14mm, so might as well go with that (haVe only seen one set with 12mm holes...)
Porsche would be all 14mm I'd imagine.

Just get them to put in standard length, the only time Iv seen this wasn't right Was on some merc wheels where the studs are required to be longer

        Thanks for that.
Will measure the holes when I get home - they are jap wheels.

Actually just saw the 12x1.25 and 12x1.5.. not sure which of those two is standard for jap actually
Won't make any difference unless you want to buy a certain brand of after market wheel nut I guess
