Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

          Did you get those RS's that were on ebay? 17" off a commodore, 5 wheels with tyres and they sold for $610.

          I was going to get them but got dragged off to a meeting kicking and screaming!

              Yep they are all 3 piece, RM's are 2 piece.

                I'd love to see this with pictures. Massive job, but stuffed if I can tell the difference between a few of the different BBS models.

                  They're all the same pretty much. The only differences would be sizing-related (different sized centres depending on diameter; I still don't know what the exact differences are) and offset-related (obviously seen in the amount of dish). Also, some centres have a small centre-cap thread size while others have a larger one. Again, I don't exactly know what the difference in size is.

                      how come i cant sell yet i have done 14 post LOL or do i have to 90days?? anyone want a set of bbs rs 15x7 +25 4x100 please feel freee to pm me, there like brand new =P
                      missing 2 centercaps . some prick stole them >.<
                      im chasing 2k ono for them, hence 2 missing centercaps.

                          Random fact for anyone interestsed, BBS RS070 are assembled by bolting the centre behind the barrel (instead of between barrel and outer lip) giving them a factory 1.5" lip - not bad on a 15"!

                            071's are exactly the same 070s and 071 centres can be identified by the lack of rear location and they have a large step to the weave on the front side to seat the barrel and lip

                            the rear of a weave would usually have a machined lip that is absent here

                              maybe because they are blue. Changing to a wheel coloured colour makes them expensive.
