Nine is probably the max front and back. You could go silly on the back but they weigh a bit so 15x9 with slighty staggered offsets would be the go I reckon.

15x8 would be rad on a Mk2... But if u cant get any 15's to modify go with 14" and run 14x7 to be on the safe side... But if your hardcore like most go 8"

hmm, how much do you reckon it'd cost new barrels, powder coat etc, like ray's(the user, not ray wheels)? ha..ha..

i'd love to get some steelies for the mk2. the wheels at the moment, as i've said many times before, look like dead painted spiders.. <shudder> are they still on offer robin?

I think it ended up costing ray 700-800 bucks. that was including new hoops. powder coating + prep. & machining out the old centres etc.

yea, about 700 for the work.

Actually I was wrong. here is ray's post about the price:

Alex, I'll be using 195/50R15 tyres on them so I'd imagine there'd be some decent stretch, nothing mad though! Dom, 9" in the rear is too hardcore for me!

It costs $75/each for new barrels, $85/each for removing the original centres out and fixing them back onto the new barrels, and $40/each for powdercoating. This included sandblasting and other prep work. Fantastic price for the powdercoating finish, but of course, you get what you pay for - the powdercoat wasn't as thick as I would have imagined, and a spot wasn't prepped right before the powdercoating so it showed up in the finish, but it's all minor. All up, it was a smidge less than $900 including the wheels itself and hubcaps

And yeah, it was an abandoned BBS RS that was lying around a shop/garage. I offered to buy it and the guy was kinda dumbfounded haha. He asked for $20

I hate the saying but "you gotta pay to play"!

You could get away with getting the wheels widened for $145 a wheel (Neale Wheels at South Strathfield and Morton and May at Warwick Farm quoted me that price), then spray can it yourself, or if you're brave enough, run them rat-style without any finish
