  • BC Coilovers feedback / reviews needed.

    Hey guys,

I own a b6 Passat and have finally narrowed down after 3 weeks of research that Ill be heading the coilover path for my car.

I was set on the ST coilovers because of the reviews / pricing on specific Passat applications. They are only height adjustable but made in Germany by KW.

A local supplier here suggested BC coilovers, I am familiar with them on Jap cars but worried for my needs (not race inspired, just height adjustment / good ride)

The pro's for the BC's that is making me consider them is the local warranty, locally rebuildable as well as 30 settings for damping adjustment (allowing to run them softer etc). The supplier said they mainly serve BMW clients and a lot of BMW's run them with positive feedback.

I was wondering if anyone here has had these or driven a car with them and how they would rate how they drive. Mostly interested in how they deal with bumps / how smooth they feel as opposed to how 'stiff and ready for track' they are. Its my daily driver and I would like to have an acceptable ride quality.

ANY feedback appreciated GOLF, JETA, PASSAT, POLO how are the BC Coilovers?

I have BC Coilovers in my MK6 GTI.

I have them dialled all the way down in the front and im about 24" FTG.

I had to order custom 8kg (standard 6kg) springs for the rear as i am very low with a fair bit of poke and i was rubbing when going up driveways or hitting bumps in the road. Since upgrading to 8kg i havnt had any rubbing issues.

The ride is very comfortable and not as bumpy as what ive previously experienced with other brands in other cars.

I ordered mine from JustJap in Sydney and they are very easy to deal with and were really helpful in ordering custom spring rates.

Anything else you specifically would like to know just ask

+1 on BCs. Had them on my Stagea, know a whole load of guys that use them too. no issues.

Ill be buying a set of BCs (also from JJ) in the coming months.

      back for buck!

tonev, how long did it take to order the 8kg rear springs? ill need them too as ill be putting mine on an Octavia instead of a golf.

        Amazing, thanks for the replies.

I was set on the ST for their german build but cant go past good reviews on Australian roads, Australian warranty and locally rebuildable. Ill be putting these on my Passat!!

Ill stick to stock spring rates as I don't really know better haha

The springs the kit comes with are far from stock rates

however they will suit the dampers and chassis quite well.

Standard BC rates for Golf 6 are 7kg front and 6kg rear

              No worries.

Youll only need stiffer springs if you are real low / lots of poke and dont want to damage your fender LOL
