Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Mk 5rear swaybar?

    Hey all,

Loving the handling of my new GT TDI, but figure a bit stiffer rear swaybar would help in the twisty stuff. Now I realise the handling is set up to understeer the car on purpose, and too stiff in the rear will start lifting wheels and hanging the back out instead, but if I wondered if anyone else has dabbled in this area with their MK5. Is the GTI any bigger in this area? I don't want to front up to Pedders or similar when I will probably be the first golf they have seen....

    thanks for any advice,

    OK, so I'm a loser.

Can someone please move this thread into the suspension section?

      MK5 TDi rear sway bar

      Greg,

My name is Milan from TCCA in Sydney and I hope others won't mind if I post here a little.

Call me if you like, I have had my TDi MK5 for over 2 years, and delivered more than 100 sets of H&R sway bars for VW's in Oz. I think anyone who has had their H&R sway bars fitted would have been happy. Ofcourse, there are other options on the market, so it's probably a good idea to do your homework.
