  • Offset for Mk6 77tsi

    Hey guys,

Just looking at getting a set of Rotiform BLQ's in 18x8.5 for my 77tsi Golf.
    Just wondering:

    a) Will this fit under my guards without protruding?
    and
    b) Which is a more aggressive offset to run, et35 or et38?

    Thanks in advance

Hey mate. Iv got same size wheels and im lowered. With an et45. there dead flush. Ull poke more with an offset lower then 45. Stretch 225/40 on those wheels to round the edges and prevent rubbing. Iv had my guards rolled aswell. Only get rubbing at the rear. wen hitting a bump at speeds 80km/h +

      Okay sweet!
I picked up some Audi RS4 wheels as temps till I get my BLQ's.
Specs are 19x8.5 et35 so I'll have a healthy amount of poke. Was a decent pick up for $325 for the set.

You'll need to run 215/35r19's (I.e. Illegal specs) and a fair degree of camber to get those to fit under your guards without rubbing.
Or was that a typo and you meant 18x8.5?

No they're 19, they seem to fit just fine on the test fit, but when I get my coilovers ill camber them in a bit to be safe. Guards will be rolled too

Ull need to stretch either way 8.5s. And most likely illegal load rating with a wall of 35s. Not sure for 19" wheels tho mate. Good price for the set tho!!! Bargain

Yeah that's why I pounced on them, price was too good to pass up.
Will stretch for sure. 215/35r19 or 225/40r19 will be my guess

If your car is stock height you could get away with 235/35r19. Which is legal load rating. You'd probably scrub on bumps still though. Otherwise 215's will stretch enough not to scrub.

I don't want to get ones that will only just clear because I'll be lowered on coils soon enough, but 225 should do me

If you're going coilovers I'd suggest 215's. I guarantee 225's will scrub on et35 if you go any lower than stock. Suspension with adjustable camber plates would be recommended too

                              Thanks for the advice!
215 sounds like a plan! The poke is illegal as it is, so if the cops are going to bend me over it may as well be worth it lol.

Definitely going adjustable coils with camber plates. Do it right the first time is my motto!
