Just ordered a set of (4) Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3's 225/40R18 92Y XL from Rubal for the Charleston's.
What an easy process (and FANTASTIC PRICE), now just tracking my order with TNT - hopefully should have them in a couple of days...

Nice. I've just received mine (235/35/19) from the guys in Melbourne, only took about 3 days to turn up. The prices on the same tyres up here in Brisbane are insane. Its cheaper to buy 2 from Melbourne and include shipping than it is to buy 1 of them locally (even from a Goodyear dealer).

Best to talk to Rubal at Croydon Goodyear for the latest prices.

Last time I needed tyres I ended up getting RE003's on 4 for 3 as it worked out $200 cheaper.

Though if you're in Melbourne you can get the F1A3's cheaper as he will include fitting and no freight cost which is what killed it for me.

I was thinking of the Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2s. Do you rate the RE003s higher and how much more are they?

I don't think the F1A2's are available anymore - now that F1A3's are out.

I'd rate RE003 and F1A2's around the same, though I have only had the RE003's on for 10,000km so can't give you any decent feedback on tyre life. The F1A2's were pretty good in terms of life in terms of a sports oriented tyre at least. I would usually get ~40,000km from a set which I consider pretty reasonable for a tyre with decent levels of wet and dry grip.

The RE003's ended up being $630 a set fitted and the F1A3's were going to cost me $720 + fitting from memory so it worked out a no brainer to go with the RE003's.

Goodyears were from Rubal and the RE003's were just my local Bridgestone dealer... though that's another story.

Rubal (Croydon Goodyear) are you guys still offering red hot prices on Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 tyres???

I need to get another set for my Passat; 235/45R 18 94W (the OEM Conti's have worn far too quickly).

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 tyres on the Jetta have been wonderful with next to no wear in almost 2yrs!

The 235/45 R18 is going to be a hard tyre to find in a performance tyre. Goodyear does spec it as a size in the F1A3 but there aren't any in the country which would likely make it expensive and long lead time.

Suggest either getting 19's and running a 40 profile tyre (235/40 R19) or getting something like Michelin Pilot Sport 4's can be had for $245ea.
