CAD/Technical Drawing for Caddy/Polo - Where to find?

Hello all,

Along the journey of being bored and wanting to do another stupid modification I am looking for some technical or cad drawings of the hub assembly from both the Caddy2k and Polo 6R.

Where would I go to get such things?

my first suggestion would be google.

There's almost no chance of finding something from VW themselves. More likely you might find something that an enthusiast has done (i've done it myself before).

I have to ask - whats the need?

Highly unlikely to find something like that, particularly from VW.

There may well be drawings that have been developed by aftermarket suppliers, however it is highly unlikely they will be willing to provide or sell them. They would be highly guarded.

These people will have gone down the route of buying a replacement item and then going over it with a whole lot of measuring equipment to produce the drawings.

I have done such drawings for a company that manufactured replacement truck brake drums. They bought a set and I then had to produce a set of working manufacturing drawings for them.

For a one-off it is not worth it. It is when you need them in large quantities that it becomes worth the exercise.
