  • Can't wait to get my Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08's installed!

    Hi All,

Getting my AD08's fitted on Thursday @ Bob Jane in Cannington

Can't wait, been quoted ~$1200 fitted which I'm happy with...

Coming from the standard Dunlop's on the GTI I'm thinking its a worthwhile upgrade...

    Cheers,

    Josh

      I'm sure you'll love them!

I swapped from Pirelli P Zero Corsas to the AD08s on a previous car and found them to a great upgrade all round - improved wear, better wet weather grip and very little fade when driven hard on the track.

Very interested to hear how they go on the Polo.

I have heard the new AD08R's are a spectacularly good tyre, a step up on the 08's.

the AD08 is as close as you can to semis (real semis with wear rating of <100).

i had the AD08 before and used the set on track and absolutely loved them! currently trialing the cheapest option but the same class, Kumho KU36.

noise, definately louder than any non extreme performance class tyres, but acceptable while cruising on the highway at 100-110 kph. the KU36 is louder than AD08.

handling, the AD08 has steel insert in its sidewall for stiff sidewall. the KU36 has softer sidewall.

stickiness, the AD08 picks every small loose rocks and gravel when warm and yes you can hear them spraying your inner fender liner

in summary, if you want grip, handling and have plently of $$$$ and don't care about wear rate and comfort; get the AD08

Demon Tweaks UK sells the cheapest AD08.

The Advan Neova AD08 tyres will finally allow you to take better advantage of all the mods you have on the car, especially the power and brake upgrades.

I would not rely on wear ratings as an indication of performance or "stickyness"
But there no question or doubt that the AD08 is a performace tyre

I had a puncture repair at Bob Jane in Sydney
Months later when I needed to remove the wheel I discovered the bolts were massively over tightened
So much so that I sheared the bolt head off a wheel brace trying to undo them!!!

They have actually fitted AD08R's so that was a nice bonus

These tyres are amazing! Much much better wet performance which i wasn't expecting

Can't give any feedback to dry performance yet... Damn rain...

Car is much more controllable, steering feedback is improved...

Very happy, a worthwhile investment if you have some $$$ for your car...

Whats the best 3 or 4 tires you guys would recommend for my car? I dont do track days, just want something to grip really well on dry mountain roads, and emergency brake better than stock in the wet commuting. Have had $150 tires in the past, looking at upgrading to the $200-220 mark.. Cheers!

If ever i were to have a pet-hate this would be it... Happened a couple of times on my Tig (Pedders once & another time after a puncture repair somewhere) but i actually found Bob Jane (Box Hill) good & watched them using a torque wrench after they fitted my new rims. I now go out of my way to ask for "no over-tightening, please" whenever i have to go to the shop...

the set i had in the past:

I saw Bob Jane Taringa QLD also using a torque wrench when I had my tyres mounted using a proper machine for run flats (less chance of damaging rim when mounting tyre).

Weather was a bit nicer today... I was taking corners so fast i stuffed up so many times (my usual lines are now useless)

These tyres seem almost limitless... And when they do slip it is incredibly progressive... They don't just let go...
