  • Hottuning on MK1 - Fronts not low?

    Hey guys,

Im a little stuck, its been approximately 48 hours since my new set of hot tuning coilovers were installed into the mk1, and the fronts just aren't dropping to anywhere near what i'd like. With 185/55/15 i've still got a good inch of wheel gap in the front. The rears seem to be fine.

    What have i done

Big tyres will help fill his arches, so cant be that.
are you sure they are for a mk1? are they new? have you driven around on them? take the helper springs out?

You should be able to go silly low. My bet is you've been given mk2 coils

I have a set on my Cab and the sump will touch the floor if I wound them down enough. I have about a couple of inches between the tyre and the wheel arch just to prevent scrubbing.

Put a picture up of the coilover .

Wind them down lower for starters. How many mm of thread do you have left.

              They'll go plenty low.
