Which size tyres on a 19x8 rim?

So I've got a few choices of tyre size to go onto some 19x8 ET33 rims which I'm about to put onto my Tig.

Stock tyre sizes for Tiguan are first 3 (below).

Just trying to figure out of the 4 or 5 possible 19" tyre sizes which is going to be best. Obviously trying to keep the rolling diameter close to stock.. and balance that with availability of rubber at the right price in the various sizes.

I'm thinking of eliminating the 255/40R19 option as it's a bit wide for my 19x8 rims (really need 8.5).

Then don't really want to go narrower rubber so the 225/45 option has a pencil line through it.

And 235/45 R19 is a bit of a wierd size so I'm kind of left with the 2 options that have the worst rolling diameters...

Any thoughts?

So slightly over-sized. Any problems with doing this other than the speedo being 2% closer to "actual" speed?

Looking at some KU27's - give up a bit of performance for hopefully a quieter longer lasting tyre (compared to KU31's).

No issue with speed as the stock speedometer is out by around -7% anyway so it just makes it read more accurately.
Haven't had any issues and becasue they are slightly wider than needed it gives you a bit of extra play so the wheels don't get scraped first.

Ku31's were appropriately load and speed rated above stock and i managed to wrangle them for $250 per corner shipped and fitted from St George Tyre.

Yes it's a little confusing as on the label inside the fuel filler it has a range of "standard" tyre sizes with load and speed ratings:

215/65 R16 - 98H
235/55 R17 - 99H
235/50 R18 - 97H
255/40 R19 - 96V

Though this assumes you're using the standard width rims... so given I'm putting 19's on do I only need to consider the load/speed rating for 19's (i.e. 96V)?

The standard 19" rim is 19x9 and I'm only giong 19x8 so I'm not sure how these manufacturer load/speed ratings relate when you put on non-stock rim sizes.

Safest is just to get 99V rated as a minimum and then I've covered all bases (maximum load/speed rating for all sizes), but was wondering what is actually required. Anyone??

Yeah I know my speedo reads about 5% high now so like you I'm not too concerned running a slightly larger tyre - probably better that way than going smaller and being even more out...

And the 245/45's will have slightly more height in them though I think ride is only going to be marginal difference between a 45 and 40 anyway.

I'm tossing up between tempe and st george - depends which one has the tyres at the right price. Given up on tirerack as they were quoting me over $400 on freight and it kind of killed the price.
