Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Slightly oversize tyres Caddy

Just got some Bridgestone ecopia EP100 fitted to my Mk5 Caddy. Size 205/65 R15 99H on 6J original Mk 5 Golf Mags. Original tyres were 195/65 R15 and as speedo was a bit optimistic(4kmh high at 60kph) it should be a bit more in line now and lower revs.

First impressions are quiet but going from min tread to full tread usually is, low speed handling seems a bit better. Time will tell. ($119 ea)

65000kms on Original OEM Firestones made in Poland
32000kms on Supercats, not as good a grip as OEM,s and spins easier in the wet. Not a great tyre for FWD but cheap.

I put 235/45/17 on my octavia last year instead of 225/45/17 which actually work much better I am finding - more grip, comfort and quieter aswell.

    Also they are cheaper
