  • VW Centre Caps for Audi Rims

    Hi all,
I have a set of 17" Audi A4 rims that I am planning on fitting to my Mk6 Golf. The only trouble I'm having is with the centre caps. I still have the centre caps that come with the rims, but the Audi logo is cast into the cap, and this part of the cap is also slightly domed which means that it would be hard to put a sticker over it. The rims part number is 8E0601025AS and the hubcap is 8E0601165MSRA. Does anyone know of a part number of a VW cap that may fit, or alternately have any ideas on how to replace the Audi logo with a VW one?

    Cheers

Can you post a picture of the centre cap in the wheel and the diameter of the cap? A few badges will swap easily because of the same centrebore - but a few Audi wheels have a huge centre caps (RS4's, TT's, A8 Wheels) - these are harder/impossible to find in VW.

Have you tried putting the VW cap from your MK6 into the wheel? Does it not fit?

      VW Centre Caps

The diameter of the caps is approximately 150mm. I'm not sure on how to post pictures, but if 8E0601165MSRA is enterred into google images a clear picture is the first one shown. The VW centres from my GTi don't fit as they are only about 50mm diameter.

I'm currently following a lead on a company here in Brissy that may be able to make up some domed stickers to suit.

      Cheers

had a similar issue years ago with our A8 replicas on our new beetle. The centre caps came with the VW emblem that i thought was part of the cap... it was just a sticker... one eventually came off while driving and i couldn't find a replacement anywhere. They dont make spare sets only what is supplied with the wheels. Ours were about 125mm diameter from memory. Ended up finding a local wheel place that the guy i spoke with was willing to sell me a set for cash... got them but assumed they were doing a dodgy and would claim that the emblems did not come with the wheels or something as no other place could get them.
I would ring around heaps of places and try your luck.

Thae Audi logo looks like a seperate part that simply pops out when you press the pins from behind. That's how I got the Audi Logo off my cap.

My cap was domed as well. Some of the stickers you buy on ebay have a foamed backing & this helps them sit properly. Looks dodgey from close up (checking tyre pressures) but from 1.5m+ away it's fine.
