Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Any decent tyre shop can get them for you. Repco and autobahn aswell or you can buy them from companies like ECS Tuning, H&R etc.

What size spacers are you going to get and are you buying 2 or 4?

EDIT: Just had a look on ECS Tuning, 20 longer wheel bolts shipped to Sydney is about $140USD.

Seems expensive for some bolts doesn't it? BMW one are longer than stock VW ones I believe, but I'm sure there are others out there, and depends how big you spacer is I 'pose

Have you asked them about bolts? considering they make spacers, one would think (or at least I do) that they would make bolts to suit??? just a thought?

i think ud be better off getting bolts just from a local tyre place. I got mine from mag wheel centre in richmond. didnt cost much at all.
be careful u get the right bolts to suit your rims. standard VW rims use a ball seat from memory? My aftermarket ones use a conical seat and i think there are some rims that just have a flat seat too?

Made on a mill then chromed and hardened rather than forged ones.

                    Wheel studs

MB Spares in Fyshwich ACT have long studs. I bought 30mm ball seat studs for my ATS wheels, about $6 or $7 each. I noticed they had longer ones as well.

Lee Bros engineering in North Parra sell all sorts of bolts and are dirt cheap. They seriously have every bolt u will ever need whether it be flywheel bolts or simple obscure bolts. 9 Dunlop St North Parra is their address.
