The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • Wheel painting costs

Hey all. Have gotten a couple quotes to get rims painted. One was $250 a wheel, the other $270. Does that seem right? I have no clue, but it seems quite high. Doing some quick google searches I see people getting it done for $50 a rim.

    Appreciate any input

How long is a piece of string?

What colour? How big are the wheels? Where did you get quotes?

Handy with a spray can? Get a compressor and some paint and do it yourself. (will cost less than 2 wheels at that price!)

My quote from an A-Grade painter here was $500, so take from that what you will!

I recently purchased a set of 17" rims and had them powder coated for $90 per rim although the powder coating was organised by the wheel supplier at my request.

Unfortunately I don't have the details of the powder coater as the supplier used their contractor

Thanks guys. One quote was from Wheel Centre Repair in Botany. I know they do top notch work. The other was through my mechanic.

Tyres are 19 tallas. Wanting to go a gunmetal metallic.

I've got the same wheels as you... and mine cost $1100 to paint (price includes wheel repair)...
Not to mention I have a friend who now looks at my wheels and says "I can't believe THE Matt Coleman did those" in a fanboi kind of way... that in itself is priceless

Thanks she_dub. That's great info. Guess the price is about right for a top job!!

Need the Roc to stand out with all the others. I have a feeling I'll be seeing quite a few CWs in the coming months.
