  • 8inch wide wheels on 96 Seat Ibiza - Will they fit? What needs to be done?

    Hi peeps...

I am absolutely a wheel noob. I am looking on purchasing a set of 15 x 8 Borbet A reps. I have already been told that they won't fit without flaring the guards. Which I am OK to do, but is it really required? What else needs to be done? I am also looking at lowering a bit (not too much)

Also what width tyre would be required to get a little stretch look to it... (no too much)

If anyone else has this spec of wheels on an Ibiza any feedback would help.

    Thanks

Yea, you will be able to fit it. Fitment will depend on:

        Offset
        Ride Height
        Tyre Size
(too a less extent camber as well)

a 185/45 will give it a nice stretched look. A 195/50 may look a bit bulky.

So I got the wheels, they are a 15x7 not 8. I settled for the Remotec A's that Lewis (LWR) was selling.. All paid for and waiting for them to arrive from.QLD. Can't wait..

I also got lucky with some Eibach pro kit's from here: Seat Buy suspension from Eibach including adjustable suspension and automotive coil springs. Best thing is that these guys are local (Mona Vale NSW)

All I need now are a set of tyres. Looking at possibly 195/45 or 185/45. Will post up some shots of the car once everything is fitted.

That'll look great on the 'biza! 195/45 will be OK I think.

                  cool wheels!

                  185/45 or 195/45

a 50 profile would make it look too bulky, imo.

I have 195/45/15 on my wheels at the moment. Got toyo t1r's from the states for pretty cheap, they're nice tyres too

                        Nankang do both a 185/45 and 195/45 ( Nankang NS2 )

look for a shop local to you who sell Nankang and get them to ring their supplier to see if they can get a set for you, if that fails i can spear you into the guy i get mine through but he is in the Strathfield area

not a tyre recommended for hard driving but they stretch nicely

Thanks Lewis, I'm loving the wheels. Didn't know they would suit the car so well. More pics will be up soon once my Eibach springs are fitted.

The car is actually filthy I haven't washed it in weeks... it sits inside though so it still looks presentable.
