  • Gutter Rash Repairs Sydney

Ello iam new recently bought a MK3 with 17s and the wheels have gutter rash on all 4 wheels. Can some 1 give me a link for a place that repairs them in Sydney and rough estimate how much the damage is going to be as an estimate, they dont need paintin just a polish n repair.Couldnt tell you what kinda of rims as i wouldnt have a clue ,but if i was to explain it i would say that it looks a like spider with 8 arms that branch out into two smaller arms so 16 smaller arms.Kinda like em so instead of buyin new rims just want to fix em up if its not going to be too expensive. Will eventually post pics.

    Thanks in advance.

    Magman Workshop For Wheels
    Unit 2/ 21 Moxon Rd Punchbowl 2196

An ex-fitter and turner that now only does wheel repairs. He'll get rid of the gutter rash using a full size machinist's lathe, and with the wheel mounted in the lathe he checks and corrects any buckling, or out of round at the same time. On badly damaged mags he can replace material by building up alloy with a welder then machining, and polishing it, so as not to know it was ever damaged. He's got a booth for painting, and does powder coating as well. Seriously, the guy is at the top of the field. He doesn't advertise, because he doesn't have to, and his prices are very, very reasonable. On top of all that, he's a really good bloke.

No, he's not a relation, or a mate, or anything like that. He's done restoration, and repair work for me before, and I couldn't be happier with the quality of the work, and the price that it cost to get it done, so I'm happy to be able to give him a recommendation here.

Alloy Wheel Repair, Mag Wheel Repair - Australia - The Wheel Man - We Come To You

Awesome. Had him come out to my work and fixed my 18" Detroit on the spot. Took him an hour, charged me $130. All he really did was sand it back and paint over it, but you can't tell a thing, unless you look really close.

Needless to say, I now have gutter rash in a few other places . Think it's unavoidable, and have learned to live with it!

+1 for Magman. He does a great job. I've had 3 wheels repaired by him and after 2 years there are no signs they were ever repaired. Nice guy as well who doesn't stuff you around.
