Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

So i'm in the market for a new jack big long handle, low profile, weighs less then 20ish kg's south of $250 is the Arcan cealj1.5tb with a profile of 91mm lowered my only option?

What do you use and how do you rate it?
My current jack is a Orcan something, something, something that takes ages to lift a corner and i'm over it.
Must be some jack enthusiasts out there

I got my Arcan low profile, lightweight jack from Costco - was about $160.

It's pretty good for the price. My previous car was lowered on coilovers so I needed a low profile jack

I've got an arcan jack from
Costco as well. It's pretty decent considering the price. Still need to drive onto blocks to lift the car though..

I had a look at that jack, looks nice and solid, but north of my budget ATM.

The Arcan is seeming like a winar

What's the minimum height on the Arcan from Costco? 91mm as written in the OP?
                Past: Mk3 Golf 2L 8V, Audi 8L A3T.
                Present: Mk3 Golf variant.

Went to Costco 2 weeks ago and they still had the jacks there. This is in Canberra though.

I ended up buying this one - TRADEQUIP HEAVY DUTY LOW PROFILE HIGH LIFT JACK

Expensive but one of the best investments I've made. I don't ever dread about swapping my wheels around anymore haha.

Ooh now that by far the jack with the lowest "minimum height". The ones I've seen are all 90-91mm minimum height. 70mm minimum height is perfect for nearly all applications. Not too expensive either.

That's with the cup too. Removed it and it's about 60mm now
