Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

If you haven't found a repairer yet there is a guy in Punchbowl. The business is called Magman. I can't remember the guys name, but he's a fitter and turner by trade, and now only repairs and resprays wheels. Gutter rash is gone for about $50 a wheel, and cracked wheels are done for about $85. All repairs are done on a lathe, so not only are the faces checked, but the entire wheel is also checked for buckles, or running out of round.
Google Magman and you should find he gets mentioned on a lot of car forums without a bad word. That's how I found him a couple of years ago. He doesn't advertise, because he doesn't have to. I've used him twice. Once to refurbish a set of Walkinshaws, and when my missus rashed the near rear side wheel of her then one week old Golf. I can't recommend him highly enough for first class workmanship at an affordable price. He's a top bloke as well.Last edited by Guest; 17-10-2011, 02:28 PM.
