235/40R18 or 225/40R18 on 18 x 8.5 et45?

Ok guys I'm starting a new thread as I just ordered a set of 18x8.5 et45 Euro Division | GTC Wheels | GT-CX | 3 Finishes in stock - VW GTI Forum / VW Rabbit Forum / VW R32 Forum / VW Golf Forum - Golfmkv.com and I’m wondering if I should get 235 instead of 225 due to the extra wheel width?

Can anyone provide opinion?

I had 225s on my 8.5inch wide Works rims. Ended up with a slight stretch on the tyre, but nothing too outrageous. If your car is lowered it may even help with guard clearance.
