    Thanks again for your inquiry and once again I apologize for the delay in getting back to you! Just last week some of the restrictions have been lifted and small orders (up to four tires) are starting to go out again. Each order must be reviewed for release, however, every order I have submitted has been approved so far. So if you would like to submit and order for either the Michelin or Pirelli tires, I will do my best to make it happen!

    I'm starting to think that maybe it's a ploy by tirerack to push more profitable tire brands or to move over ordered stock. Who knows, as long as its cheap

      I think you are exactly right and that's a breach of Australian Consumer law, not that any regulator will pursue the issue.

        Actually, it's US$849. It's $399 on contract.

              • I got a quote yesterday to ship 4 x Continental DSW's. No mention of any trade sanctions. I'd love to support local businesses but not when I can buy the same thing from OS for half the price.

                  Note that the Continental ExtremeContact DW and DWS are designed for North American markets and aren't officially distributed in Europe, Asia or Australia.

                  • I would not get the DWS, especially in Brisbane where there's hardly any snow on the road The DWS will get a lot of mileage for sure and will suit 4WD and SUV cars, but not the GTI.

                    But the DW gets a lot of good reviews and priced decently.

                    See a review below:

                      yep, i got the dw for my boss 302 mustang, very nice tyres. the dws is more of an all weather tyre for american roads that get sleet, etc

                        • Continental ExtremeContact DW are now on our TDI the last 15,000 and I cant fault them, just did Sydney return, they were quiet and good grip and feel. If they wear OK, they will do me regardless of the great Tirerack price. The fact they are designed for sleet isnt obvious. Maybe it reduces longevity or dry grip, not sure.

                            The DWS is designed to cope with sleet or light snow. The DW isn't.

                            • D = Dry
                              W = Wet
                              S = Snow/Sleet

                              I don't think I'll go with ContiSportContact3's again - they just wear out far too quickly, and they're pretty expensive.

                                I understand the name and coding, thanks also to Tobes, but am just wondering, given the price is ballpark identical, whether there is a noticeable difference?
                                The only snow for us is the odd day in the New England or when we go skiing.
                                I am guessing that as dry grip seems very good, that they won't wear as well in warmer Brisvegas, but I dont know.
                                What do the experts in here say?
