Can anyone tell me the advantage of a kit like this
Rear Disc Brake Caliper Tool Kit

versus a simple tool like this?
    Disc Brake Pad Spreader

I wasn't sure where to post this query but here seemed as good a place as any......

the simple one is more suited to front brakes. The rear requires the piston to be turned as it is pushed in and has the locating tabs.

The cheapy may just spin. Its hard to see from the pic if the small round section is fixed or spins in place so as not to apply a twisting force.
It is possible to improvise but then whats the point of having a tool if you have to improvise anyways.
