Beaurepaires scrapped three of my wheels

At this point, unless you get 4 complete new wheels, I don't think you'll be happy.

I agree with that statement and that was what I was going for from the beginning.

I spoke to Neway this morning about my dissatisfaction and they told me that the result is basically the best that they can get it and to take it up with Beaurepaires if I wasn't happy.

I called and spoke to the complaints manager at Beaurepaires Head Office and then to the store manager who has agreed to look into matter further following my dissatisfaction. I've forwarded photos on to him as well so we'll see where it goes from here.

Attached is a close up on the spotty marks which are on all wheels. They are more noticeable in direct sunlight.

The worst part about situations like this, is the time you've spent dealing with all this crap has now probably exceeded the cost of replacement wheels as it is. The time Beaurepaires have spent, and the machining costs, has probably exceed the costs as well! Silly accountant types don't consider time in these equations...

Great news! Spoke to the store manager this morning who said they will be replacing all rims.

I think the issue went up to the state manager level for the approval. I just hope the store manager didn't get into too much trouble as he was cooperative the whole time. It's just a shame that he listened to Neway who I feel simply over promised and under delivered on the repair.

I'm just hoping VW has a set of wheels in stock.

My wife's A4 had the exact same mark on her wheels when getting tyres replaced. The car was sent thru Audi, so they had all 4 wheels replaced no questions asked.
I took my Passat to Bob Jane to fit my new 18" rims and asked that they protect the wheel. They made comment that the machine they use wont even touch the rim in the same way. I kept a close eye on them and they didnt

Maybe once this is done you can send a feedback letter to their customer service. You know, state pretty much what you've expressed here... that the store manager was great through this, that Neway over-promised, and that you just wish the store manager was able to go down the path of replacing the wheels earlier, to save every one involved the wasted time, effort, and expense.

I've got the new wheels! After seeing them on the car you can really see a difference especially with the shine. I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

The Beaurepaires store manager again offered free regular wheel rotations and balances for the life of the tyres which was really nice of him.

Maybe once this is done you can send a feedback letter to their customer service. You know, state pretty much what you've expressed here... that the store manager was great through this, that Neway over-promised, and that you just wish the store manager was able to go down the path of replacing the wheels earlier, to save every one involved the wasted time, effort, and expense.

Hey at least now you have 4 spare wheels in case of a flat tyre or what not, always good to have some spare laying around lol.

They were swapped over so Beaurepaires has the repaired ones which they will probably sell as a refurbished set.

Glad you got it all sorted, call it anal, but I was pi**ed aswell when the f**ckwits at Tyrepower damaged my wheel. I wish my outcome was as good as yours. Well done.

Here are the photos of the new wheels. You can't tell much from these photos but in direct sunlight and on an angle they shine heaps where the repaired ones were noticeably duller.

Just caught up on this thread, shame about the repair job but lucky for that you Beaurepairs replaced them.

I think, examining the photos and knowing a little about Neway, is that the dullness was a result not of imperfections in the repair but with the clear coat job.

Neway does't have a proper paint booth, they probably just sprayed it in the open and left it as done, which means that allot of dust, dirt and oil residue gets sucked up and sprayed onto the wheel.

If you ever get them repaired again, perhaps go through someone who has a proper paint booth set up and just sends them out for the lathe but paints and cleans them in a proper environment.
