Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Been thinkin bout work s1 p2's for the vr as ive built up a love for these wheels...i know the standard offset of a vr is et35-42. Wonderin if anyone could assist me in finding some to fit...been tryin to find a set of 16's with the 5x100 pcd. Anyone got a set or know some distributors etc?

Has anyone done this before anyway? keen to see it if it has...

Subaru have the same stud pattern, so you could try searching on some suby forum's for a set?

the main thing to think about is if they will look good on the car? yes they are an amazing looking set of wheels! but will they suit the VR?

    cheers

dont forget that suby wheels are often super high offset, ie +45-50ish, which means you'll need spacers.

If you're not opposed to running adapters, that would be another option, as I think you're more likely (much more) to find a set in 5x114.3. Often they'll have high offsets (ie +45) which means they're prefect candidates for adapters. (I've got a set of works like this that I'm rebuilding atm, which will fit nicely with adapters)

Celica's are 5x100 too, and have much VR friendlier offsets, but are often kinda skinny, only 7 or 7.5" wide, in my experience, but nice offsets at around +35.

Hope you're willing to spend big bucks, cause it'll be exxy!

          hope this helps.

if your going to use adapters, just buy 5x100 works if you need to...... use bolt in spacer's, no point looking for 5x114 rims and putting adapters if your going to space out some 5x100's anyway......

You're going to be hard pushed to find a set locally that fit straight up, your best bet is going to be yahoo auctions in Japan and you may find a set with delivery will be cheaper than a set here.
Your other option is to get a set custom built to your exact specs but this does add up and will be around $2k+ before tyres...

A Pog with dish would be awesome... Next you can drop it lower than is practical and get a good stretch.

                  Bag it.

those ones on the black car are 16's I believe.
those 17's, can't imagine the air frieght on those bad boys! offset is slightly high, but nothing some spacers can't sort out. Ideal for a pogo, imo.

been seein alot of rig's these days (jap, wanna-be drift rigs) runnin volk te-37's...got me thinkin, they look f**kin hot on them, like a post i made in the mk3 appreciation thread about some mk3's with rotas...kinda thought about te-37's on a vr.

                          Volk Racing TE37 Wheel 16x7 5x100

looked up the offsets etc and found that a stock standard vr's offset with the 15" bbs's is 32-38mm with 6" width? this correct? if so, a set of 16" te-37's should fit well shouldnt they?

figured these would be a cheaper and easier option than my original plan of the works which i will eventually do...a long way down the track when i have the dough however still think these would look nice
