  • GOLF GTi MK6 will 19" Audi RS4 style wheel fit with 235/35 rubber ?

    Hi Guys,

Just purchased a new adidas 2011 Golf GTi and keen to upgrade to 19" wheels ...

Ive found a set of Audi RS4 style with 235/35 rubber, will these fit with no issue's ?

I also plan to lower the car 25mm but dont want any scrubbing etc

Any info would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks !

    Welcome

    The Golf R uses 235/35 R19 91Y XL tyres on 8.0J x 19 ET50 wheels.

The R also runs on lowered suspension (front/rear 25 mm) compared to the GTI (front 22 mm/rear 15 mm), so on the face of it, a further front 3 mm/rear 10 mm drop probably wouldn't hurt.

Hopefully someone else will chime in with more info.

you'd want to check width and offset also.diameter doesnt make much difference if your keeping the tyre rolling diameter the same

The R's that ship with 19s also get slightly different bits inside the arches, whereas the ones that get 18s don't. I believe it's a screw on the 18s, which suggests your GTI would probably have a problem with rubbing on that screw with 19s.
