  • Brake question

This is the closest thing to the brakes so I'm posting here..

My '02 Passat is just about ready for new rotors/pads. The front was not long done, but I'm wondering if there is an upgrade that is around the same price or close to OEM seeing as the rear needs to be done anyway. Also is it worth doing? I'm guessing i would need to also change calipers?
What sort of cost is invovled or do i stick with what i have?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Before you have the brakes looked at, take the time to measure both the rotor thickness and the pad thickness. Unfortunately brakes are seen as an easy target by some service centres and they cost. You do not need OEM rotors and/or pads, and many aftermarket alternatives will give you longer life with no loss in brake performance.

As for changing the calipers, this would ONLY be necessary if there was something wrong with them or you wanted to put bigger calipers on. Calipers do not need to be routinely changed.
