  • VIC Wheel Repair - Melbourne

Just would like to know the cost involved and places that people would recommend to repair edged gutter marks small and large for alloy wheels. Any posts are appreciated Thanks..

Ask for Matt or Andy Coleman - they're really good guys and do a lot of repair work for dealers (inc Porsche, Merc Benz etc)

Do you have to remove the tires and wheels yourself at all of these places? Or can u just leave the car there and they do it all?

Depends on what the wheel is there for...
Id be taking the wheels with no tyres for most repairs though.

Well mines gutterbashed courtesy of my sister.
So a refurb or even a collie change to all four wheels would be considered.
Its just that I don't have a spare set of wheels to put on while they're repaired, I'd rather just drop the car in for a few days and then pick it up all done hassle free.
Anyone know a place that does this?

That meant to say colour, not collie. (iPhone)

The place i posted above provide this service i believe, and also remove tires and re-balance so there is no chance of damage when fitting tyres.
Most of the good places who specialise in wheel repair in melb that i called offer tyre removal and refit service.

See 3rd post above for where I got my Omanyt's painted - they're actually painted Ford 'Ego' which is a dark grey with metallic pearl through it.

Expect to pay between $120-200 per rim depending on wheel size, curb damage, paint colour/type etc.

Yes you can get them powdercoated much cheaper, however without starting a debate, a painted finish is far superior in my opinion (having had both done previously). If you want to go Shadow Chrome finish, i.e. VE GTS expect $280-300 per rim.

                      Hope this info helps.

Thanks for that Jet147. I'll give them a call soon.
Is there a website or something that has different paint finishes for rims so you can tell them what finish you want?

I just did some research on car and bike colours i thought would look good on a set of wheels to be honest...came across the 'Ego' colour on the F6 Typhoon on a friends suggestion and went with it.
The metallic grey on Yamaha R1 or R6 was a nice colour, just do some googling to find a paint code and they can mix it up for you.

                              Thanks mate.
Such a hard decision because my car is united grey and If I go silver it's hard to tell what style unless you see it in person. Still don't know what colour to go.
