Assitance required please - MKV

Hi Guys,

(Sorry i did try searching first...)

There is a set of wheels that have come up and im keen although as they are in QLD and me in Melbourne = i cant personally complete a test fit..

Car: MKV r32 3 door

New wheels: 5x 130 - F 18x8" ET49 and R 18x9.5" ET52 (i have contacted H&R to see how thick there adaptors are but were not very helpful... said only way to be sure was to trial fit the wheels)

Suspension: stock at the moment, but will most likly go Bilstein PSSS10's to match new wheels and understand wheels will intrude with poke and wont sit flush under fenders

What is the max width i can fit in the back? I have found i will most likly need to run 215/35/18 tyres?

Any members completed somthing like this? Or reccomendations on who i can contact in the industry, have found since there is no revenue for the workshops ive contacted not many have wanted to discuss it..

or the other set of wheels are 18x8.5" ET35 - google search shows this has been completed with 215 tyres and as above poke

215/35/18 sounds small for a mk5, even a mk4. 215/40/18 will still be a smaller profile then stock but not over the top
you can normally get a minimum adapter width of 15mm, so is a 8" wheel with ET34 going to fit up front...?
Dont know a lot about what can and cant be done on a lowered mkv but i believe it'll be fairly aggressive and poke lots (happy to be corrected)

nath hit up Matt Crooke from fifteen52/adaptec speedware. they make custom adaptors and ive bought a few things from them!

they should be able to you sort ur stance out!!

I looked a while ago to run adaptors for a Porsche setup and found the older generation from H&R were 10mm width.. you will find that a majority now are 15mm now so you may need to order a custom set.. you will also need to take into consideration hub sizing as you want it to sit straight on and no hub rings...

From what Ive seen, 35-38 offset has slight poke/flushness with the guards.. pending on your tyre setup, you will need some guard work ie rolling... Alot of guys run a 205/40/18F I believe and a 215/40/18R on 9.5-10"... it will depend on the look your going for.. Regarding widths, itll come down to camber and also guard work.. from memory Oscar (golfmkv) was tucking 10.5" in the rear on a R32 but was on bags and i think was running like -3.5 camber..

another thought may alos be your coils selection... From what ive seen, PSS10 wont go low enought to pull the proposed setup properly.. i use that term as a comparsion of the guys running staggered setups in the states... most of these runs are running FK's, B&Gs or Konis... They will go lower then a PSS10's without modification..

there is plenty of ppl on Golfmkv who have run Porsche rims so perhaps do a search on there and you should be able to find all the info you need to make the right decision...

i will say that a staggered setup with look AMAZING if you are low but if you have any wheel gap, it will may yuor car look high and also the rims will look off...
